Is your life asking these questions of you?

Is your life asking these questions of you?

  • What has brought you to this place in your journey, this moment in your life?
  • What gods, what forces, what family, what social environment, has framed your reality, perhaps supported, perhaps constricted it?
  • Whose life have you been living?
  • Even when things are going well, do things feel not quite right?
  • Does so much seem a disappointment, a betrayal, a bankruptcy of expectations?
  • Do you believe that you must hide so much, from others, from yourself?
  • Does life seem a script written elsewhere, and you barely consulted, if at all?
  • Does the idea of your soul trouble you, and feel familiar as a long-lost companion?
  • Is the life you are living too small for the soul’s desire?
  • Is now the time for you to answer the summons of the soul, the invitation to the second, larger life?

From: Finding Meaning in the Second Half of Life: How to Finally, Really Grow Up. By James Hollis.

Accepting New Clients for Spiritual Direction

“Wherever you find yourself—do not easily leave.” Desert Father Abba Anthony

“For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”  2 Timothy 4:6-8 NIV

Completing 11 years with Alpha, coaching hundreds of beloved Church leaders, the “fullness of time” has arrived for me to focus more fully on my Spiritual Direction practice. Praise be to God.

If you or someone you know is curious about the ancient practice of Spiritual Direction, please look at my website to learn more. I am currently accepting new clients. Please email me at laura.lies@streamsgrace.com to learn more. Bless you. Laura Ann Lies

  9. Where do you have a voice? What is the spiritual fruit in this moment? In this story?
  10. How do you connect to mystery?

Spiritual Direction Guidelines

Our friends at Spiritual Directors International have written a set of ethical guidelines for a community of spiritual directors whose memberships spans the globe, embracing a wide range of denominational affiliations, faith traditions, and theologies. The product of their prayer, reflection, and discernment is the booklet called the Guidelines for Ethical Conduct.
