Meet Tracie Tackett, Spiritual Director
While working in full-time ministry, I had been overcommitted, which led to exhaustion. The business of life, raising five kids, over-commitment, and saying, ‘yes’ to everything, left me completely depleted. I longed to slow down, feel God’s presence, and know when I was invited to say yes OR no. My desire was to hear His voice. Being introduced to Spiritual Direction was a game changer for me.
My path into Spiritual Direction was transformational. I began experiencing freedom in some stuck places, learning new rhythms that I could live into, that would allow me to be who God created me to be, and enjoy life. Spiritual Direction has brought healing and wholeness to these areas.
Two books that introduced me to Spiritual Direction Sacred Rhythms: Arranging Our Lives for Spiritual Transformation (The IVP Signature Collection) by Ruth Haley Barton and The Next Right Thing: A Simple, Soulful Practice for Making Life Decisions by Emily P. Freeman.
Learn more about Rule of Life from Steve Macchia who has a great website called Crafting a Rule of Life and his book Crafting a Rule of Life.
As a Spiritual Director, my greatest privilege is now to hold space for others right where they are without judgment and experience more of God’s presence and the path to wholeness.
